Camps

A number of core camps are currently offered to students at various levels in the school.

Year 7 School Camp

Orientation camp for all Year 7 students. This camp is a very valuable experience for both students and staff at the start of the school year as students settle into their new school. The camp is usually held in the first few weeks of school at Bogong Outdoor Education Centre.

Year 8 School Camp

A 3-day camp for students to participate in a range of outdoor activities. Recently, this has been run through eScape and has involved students exploring the marine environments and surfing at Cape Conran.

Year 9/10/11 Camp -  Mittagundi

A 5 day winter ‘back to basics’ trip.

Year 9 Camp

An Arts camp to Melbourne. This receives quite a healthy government subsidy which helps to reduce the cost.

Year 10 Coastal Trip - Phillip Island

A great three days involving surfing, mountain bike riding, rock pool ramble, penguins, coastal management.

Year 11 Camp

‘Study Skills, Team Building and Motivation Development’ camp to Melbourne.

Year 12 Study Camp

This camp is a very valuable team experience for the Year 12 students, as well as setting the scene for school assessment tasks, writing folios and so forth.

Snowsports Program

This popular program allows students from all year levels to experience skiing and snowboarding one day a week for 6 weeks during winter. It is run with valuable support from parent and community helpers.

 

Numerous other excursions and overnight trips operate via faculties eg Outdoor Education trips in Year 9/10 and Year 11 Art, Biology etc. All are seen to be very valuable learning experiences for our students.
